The Egyptian Day 2007 - 11 November

This year, UBI is proud to be the media partner and event management team behind the Australian Egyptian Forum Council, bringing the largest Egyptian community festival to be staged in recent years: "The Egyptian Day 2007".

A grand outdoor event to be held at Tumbalong Park, Darling Harbour, Sydney on 11 November 2007, The Egyptian Day 2007 celebrates Egyptian culture, arts and crafts, and will showcase the best in Egyptian entertainment. The impressive entertainment line-up includes top foreign and local Egyptian acts that will perform a superb repertoire of songs and dances. There will also be local bands and DJs, belly dancing, drummers, camel rides, and giant screens and state-of-the-art sound systems airing video and music clips of the biggest Egyptian talents.

Hany Shaker in Concert - 27 October, 2 & 3 November

WL entertainment and UBI World TV proudly present Hany Shaker Live in Concert.

Hani Shaker’s voice is described to have descended from the heavens above. On stage Hani Shaker creates a magical atmosphere with the most beautiful songs that touch the hearts of the Arab Community.

Hani has performed at many concerts all over the Middle East and continues to win the hearts of all generations. Hani has a love of traditional Arabic music and also enjoys writing and singing modern songs which reflect contemporary society. His most popular songs include: Lesa Btsale, Bahebak ana, Galta, Elhelm Elgameel, Lao Ya’ni, Nisyanak Saeb, Mat Hadidish, and Albi Malouh to name a few.

Life Journeys Through Art - 19 September to 14 October

UBI WORLD TV is a proud sponsor of an art and culture exhibition presented by the Bosnian-Herzegovinian community of Australia.

It is with great pleasure and enthusiasm that we invite you to attend the opening of the "Life Journeys Through Art" exhibition on Saturday 22 September, 6.30pm-9.00pm at the Incinerator Art Complex, 180 Holmes Rd, Moonee Ponds, Melways, VIC (Ref:28 D7). The exhibition will showcase the work of 16 artists from Bosnia Herzegovina who have made their new home and place of inspiration right here in Australia.

We hope you will be able to attend the opening night, or visit the exhibition at your leisure from 19th September through to 14th October 2007 at the Incinerator Art Complex. Admission is free.

Auspiced by the Australian Council of Bosnian-Herzegovinian Organisations and supported by the Victorian Multicultural Commission.

Ritmo Brazilian Festival - 23 September

UBI WORLD TV is a proud sponsor of the 7th Ritmo Brazilian Festival presented by Bracca (The Brazilian Community Council of Australia Inc.)

Macedonian National Day Ilinden - August 5

UBI WORLD TV is a proud sponsor of the Ilinden celebration and gathering organized by MOYA (Macedonian Orthodox Youth of Australia) on Sunday, 5 August 2007 at the Macedonian Ortodox Monastier "St Prohor Pcinski", Donnybrook VIC. All Macedonians are welcome and invited to take part in the following activities: soccer competition, cooking competition of Macedonian traditional dishes, and a children’s art colony. Australian Arabic Medical Association 15th Annual Dinner - August 4

The Australian Arabic Medical Association (AAMA), an affiliation of Australian doctors of Middle Eastern background, marked their 15th anniversary with a Dinner event on Saturday, 4 August 2007 at the Sydney Hilton. Diplomatic officials led by Egypt Consul General, Tarek Abousenna, Australian MPs and other special guests joined the celebration.

UBI WORLD TV supported the AAMA by covering the event. UBI representatives also delivered a short speech to congratulate the Association. Highlights of the event will be shown soon on ANA (UBI Channel 30), Your Arabic Network in Australia, so don’t miss it!

Egyptian National Day - July 28

UBI WORLD TV joins the Egyptian community in celebrating Egyptian National Day. This year’s celebration will culminate in a Dinner led by the Egyptian dignitaries in Australia and the awarding of the ‘Egyptian of the Year’ on Saturday, 28 July at the Croatian Club in Punchbowl, NSW.

'Sounds of Light' Concert - July 27 and 28

UBI WORLD TV joins hands with Human Appeal International Australia to bring "Sounds of Light: The Islamic Concert for the Children of the World."

This two part concert to be held on 27 July at the Vodafone Arena, Melbourne Olympic Park and on 28 July at the Acer Arena, Sydney Olympic Park aims to raise funds for orphans and disadvantaged children in the Middle East and worldwide.

UBI WORLD TV will be airing the highlights of both concerts as part of its Ramadan season specials, airing exclusively on ANA (UBI Channel 30) very soon.

St. Elias Day - July 21

UBI WORLD TV celebrates St. Elias Day with the Australian-Lebanese community and the Antiochian Orthodox faithful on Saturday, 21 July 2007 at the St. Elias Church in Wollongong NSW.

Now on its 26th year, St Elias Day is devoted to prayers and reflection to St Elias, with attendees comprising locals and from all over NSW and even interstate. The celebration features a mass service followed by live Arabic music, folk dancing and food.

St. Charbel’s Feast Day - July 14

UBI World TV joins the Maronite community as they celebrate St Charbel’s Feast Day on Saturday, 14 July 2007, 7:00 pm at St Charbel’s Church, Punchbowl NSW.

To be led by His Grace Archbishop Ad Abi Karam, Maronite Bishop of Australia, the celebration will feature a mass service and conclude with the annual barbeque with singing, dancing and a raffle draw.

Yacobian Building film screening - June 14

"Yacobian Building", a film by renowned Egyptian scriptwriter/director, Mr Wahid Hamid, screened on Thursday June 14 at 8:00pm at the Dendy Cinema, Circular Quay, Sydney as part of the Australian Film Festival. After the screening, Mr Hamid spoke about his film and the controversy it has created in openly handling taboo issues in Egyptian society.

Linking Generations Festival - June 9 & 10

The Islamic Council of NSW, with support from the Department of Families, Community Services and Indigenous Affairs (FaCSIA), organised a Linking Generation Muslim Symposium Dinner and Expo designed to bring Australian communities together, promote awareness and understanding of the culture and values of Australian Muslims, and share the achievements and success stories of their social integration in the wider Australian community.

The objectives of the Linking Generation Symposium Dinner and Expo were aimed at promoting an awareness of the rich history and contributions Muslim pioneers and the general the Australian Muslim community have made to the development of Australia and its faith community"
